Anoka County Sheriff's Office | new construction
This 138,500-SF Sheriff's Office and Regional Forensic Lab is the first of its kind in Minnesota, and has the capacity to handle fingerprint analysis, drug testing, DNA analysis, and other forensic disciplines. In Anoka County’s 150-year history, this is the first time that the Sheriff’s Department has had a facility designed specifically to meet its needs. In addition, a unique partnership with Hamline University will allow forensic science students the opportunity to complete internships at the new facility.
The project is part of the State of Minnesota’s Buildings, Benchmarks & Beyond (B3) Project for sustainability. The B3 program is meant to be compatible with national programs such as LEED while maintaining regional values, priorities, and requirements.
