Anoka-Hennepin Public Schools | new construction / addition / renovation
The program included 2,000,000 SF of occupied additions / renovations and capital improvements to 36 schools, the new Andover High School, and two new elementary schools - Oxbow Creek and Rum River Elementary.
As a part of the project, Stahl installed an ice storage system to be used for the cooling of school buildings. The system was installed for energy savings and resulted in a substantial rebate from Xcel Energy. The building chiller comes on only at night, during off-peak hours, to make ice that is stored in large tanks. The glycol is sent through the tanks during the day to cool the buildings, which means the chiller doesn't run during peak hours.
Finalist for the MCA Project Achievement Award.
