Stahl Construction Green Projects

OK, let's look at the green facts. According to a recent EPA study, commercial buildings account for 39% of total energy use, 12% of total water consumption, 68% of total electricity consumption, and 38% of carbon-dioxide emissions. Being environmentally friendly is the "right" thing to do. Is it really that difficult? Does it really cost that much? Can you really afford not to? The answers are no, no and no. We don't want you to be sad and "blue" down the road because you didn't go "green" when you had the chance.

CH Robinson Worldwide    |    new construction

C.H. Robinson Worldwide hired Stahl as their general contractor to build out four of its corporate locations: the new World Headquarters Building (Eden Bluff II), Building C and Building E in the Flying Cloud Corporate Center, and its former corporate headquarters.

Eden Bluff II is a 125,000-SF building that takes advantage of scenic views; incorporates a three-story atrium, which bi-sects the building; and features a glass accent wall and an open staircase with glass railings. The building also features galley kitchens, 18 conference rooms, a two-story boardroom, and Class-A finishes such as slate wood flooring, and wood paneling.

Proud of their commitment to sustainable building, Stahl and CH Robinson implemented several green elements into the building's design and construction. Employees are exposed to natural daylight throughout much of the space. An outdoor patio offers a premier setting overlooking the river bluffs. The installation of a Building Automation System minimizes building heating and cooling during unoccupied hours. The addition of showers in the building encourages employees to use alternative transportation methods. Additional items that were environmentally friendly to this project include: LED lighting throughout the building, cork flooring, and touch-free plumbing fixtures and appliances.
