F&C: Stahl to Build $74.64M High School in Iowa

The Johnston Community School District recently has chosen Stahl Construction to build a $74.64 million high school in Johnston, Iowa.

The 369,000-square-foot building, scheduled for completion in April 2017, will be the largest high school in Iowa, serving 1,800 students in grades 10-12, according to Stahl. Construction starts in September.

“The education sector is a major focus for Stahl Construction and we are confident that we will deliver an exceptional facility for the community,” said Jessie Houlihan Bingen, Stahl Construction’s president.

The project team also includes Des Moines, Iowa-based frk architects + engineers and Chicago-based Perkins+Will.

A ceremonial groundbreaking is scheduled for Sept. at the project site, just north of 62nd Avenue and West of 100th Street.
