PRESS RELEASE: Stahl Completes New Army National Guard Readiness Center, Designed by LEO A DALY

Minneapolis, MN; September 1, 2020  – Stahl completed construction of the new 135,000-square-foot Army National Guard’s Readiness Center in Arden Hills, Minnesota. The $37,872,000 34th Red Bull Infantry Division Headquarters, designed by global design firm LEO A DALY, is part of the greater Arden Hills Army Training Site (AHATS). Construction started in the fall of 2018 and was completed in June 2020.

In the last decade, the Red Bull unit has grown significantly in personnel, equipment, and technology. The new facility provides training and secure administrative, work, and storage areas to support their mission. The facility was designed to provide unique and flexible spaces that feature the beautiful landscapes surrounding the building while incorporating sustainable design elements. The building is expected to achieve LEED Silver Certification in the coming weeks.

“The 34th Infantry Division Headquarters project is a great example of what you get when you partner with an excellent A/E and Contractor,” says Justin Skoglund, Project Manager for the Department of Military Affairs at Camp Ripley. “Stahl has been very aggressive at completing this project ahead of schedule and under budget. The team is hard to beat. The decades of experience this team provides enabled them to avoid problems by being proactive and fair. LEO A DALY did a great job on the design services for the Arden Hills Readiness Center. The National Guard is excited to call AHATS their new home. I would definitely work with this team again.”

“This was an exciting and rewarding project for Stahl due to the important role the facility will play for the State of Minnesota,” says Lane Schoening, Vice President of Stahl. “The project is a success due to the coordination, teamwork, diligence among all project stakeholders – namely, the Army National Guard and the City of Arden Hills officials – and deep engagement in promoting safe construction practices, which helped to result in no reported accidents throughout the entire duration of the project.”

“Working with the Minnesota Army National Guard has been an honor for our team,” says Cindy McCleary, Vice President and Managing Principal of LEO A DALY. “Our goal is to create spaces that serve those who serve and working with National Guard personnel and Stahl Construction, I think we’ve done just that.”
