Stahl Construction Breaks Ground on TownePlace Suites by Marriott in Bloomington
Minneapolis, MN; September 11, 2014 – Stahl Construction recently began construction of a 118-unit, four-story wood-framed TownePlace Suites by Marriott in Bloomington, Minnesota. The 67,902-square-foot hotel features extended stay suites with fully equipped kitchens and the Home Office TM Suite which is designed to provide guests with an enhanced environment for both working and relaxing. The hotel will be completed in June of 2015.
Included in the project is a nearly 4,000-square-foot plaza that will be developed in collaboration with the city of Bloomington to link the project site with the overall vision the city has for the area. An artist has been commissioned to create a focal piece for the plaza.
Located at 2500 Lindau Lane in Bloomington, the hotel is positioned between the expanding Mall of America and the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport. The project is being developed by South Loop Hospitality and designed by Johnson Braund.
“We are pleased to be working with South Loop Hospitality on this exciting project,” said Deborah Aldrich, Stahl Construction’s Project Manager, “The complementary strengths of our two companies combined with the stability of Marriott International will ensure that an exceptional product is delivered to the Mall of America market.”
Since 1990 Stahl Construction has completed over fifty hospitality projects including specialty work, renovations, Property Improvement Plans, additions, and new construction. Together these projects represent more than two million square feet and $175 million in construction costs.
