Word-of-the-Month: IDU – Induction Displacement Unit
Induction Displacement Units are designed to provide air quality and acoustical performance. They are fitted with a series of air injection nozzles that allow the supply of primary air at conventional temperatures (50 to 54 degrees) to the terminal. These nozzles induce room air through a heat transfer (cooling and /or heating coil) to recondition the air prior to its mixing with the primary jets. The result is a constant volume displacement supply of air to a room.
Displacement ventilation has been widely used throughout Europe for over 25 years.
Stahl will be installing wall mounted units in the classrooms at Prairie View Elementary & Middle School as part of the 42,000-square-foot addition.
