Word-of-the-Month: Remediation

Remediation is a technique used to remove contaminants from an environmental media (i.e. soil, water, sediment). Contaminants can negatively impact human health and the environment; therefore, the act of removing them stops the damage and revitalizes the project site.

Fun Fact
There are over 60 different approaches that can be implemented in remediation worldwide. Selecting the best approach depends on the contaminant, size, and purpose of the site.

Stahl’s eco-friendly, multi-use ‘Via Sol’ project with PLACE is currently undergoing remediation of the soil at the jobsite. The project team received the DEED Grant for environmental remediation to complete the work.
