As a U.S. Green Building Council member, Stahl Construction is proud of its commitment to green building practices, and its contribution toward lessening the burden on our natural resources and the environment.
Stahl was on the green page long before it became popular. We installed our first geo-thermal heating system more than twenty years ago in a school in Otsego, MN. And for years we have been incorporating recycled building materials and advanced energy-efficiency measures into our building projects.
While green design is primarily focused on the finished product, making construction, itself, less harmful to the environment is equally important. Construction projects inherently cause soil erosion, noise and traffic, and generate for every square foot of new construction nearly 2.5 pounds of waste. While we know of no way to eliminate these problems entirely, we make every effort to minimize them by using environmentally friendly construction techniques whenever possible.
Our LEED Accredited Professionals have a thorough understanding of green practices and principals, and are well-versed with LEED requirements and processes. They can walk you through the cost of green as well as the benefits. The cost is likely less than you think, the benefits greater. And they can help you determine whether it makes sense to pursue full LEED certification or simply employ some of the "best practices" of green design.
The arrival of green on the scene presents a great opportunity for us to produce profitable, energy-efficient, environmentally responsible buildings. Together we will work toward lightening our footprint on the environment and providing a better world for generations to come.
