Lakeville Police Station | new construction
Stahl was hired early on as the construction manager for this project. The new police station features administration, patrol, investigations, evidence area, evidence garage, booking / detention, support area, property storage, crime lab, evidence area, and a secure 35,000-SF underground parking garage for squad cars.
The Police Department had an interest in energy conservation and sustainability so the following elements were added to the new building. Highly efficient Super T8 lights, occupancy sensors in every room and daylight sensors in common areas, an underground water filtration system, a load-shedding contract with Dakota Electric Association, and increased insulation of the building to support energy conservation efforts. A generator was added to allow the utility company to shut down their power during peak energy times and automatically switch the police station to generator power. Recycled concrete and aggregate were also used for asphalt paving.
Finalist for the MCA Project Achievement Award.
