Lakeville South High School | new construction
Stahl completed construction of the 370,000-SF Lakeville South High School for grades 9-12. Sitting on 160 acres, the $50 million project utilized the team-based construction management format and took two years to build. It was completed on time and under budget, and incurred no lost-time accidents or OSHA violations.
The building features a 690-foot radius wall at the main entrance, a three-story commons / cafeteria, a 1,000-seat auditorium with mezzanine seating and orchestra pit, and state-of-the-art academic facilities. All classrooms and office spaces have occupancy sensors to control the lights and HVAC system. The sensors turn off the lights after a pre-determined amount of time with no activity in the room and also turn the HVAC system down to 1/3 of the "normal" airflow to save energy.
The extensive athletic facilities include a competition gymnasium, an auxiliary gymnasium, wrestling room, fitness room, dance studio, five softball fields, four baseball fields, three football practice fields, seven soccer fields, a running track and a modern football stadium.
