Stahl Construction Educational Projects

Schools come in all shapes and sizes, and different levels from elementary through college, but they all have one thing in common: a drop-dead completion date. Students and staff are waiting to move in and there's nowhere else to go. It has to be done. One lesson we've learned over the years is that the first day on the job is as important to the schedule as the last day. So on that first day we start doing our homework, right through to the end. The result is a quality project finished in plenty of time for the new school year, and an A+ for our efforts.

Mounds View Public Schools | addition / renovation

Stahl was hired as the construction manager to oversee 1.4 million SF of renovations and 230,000 SF of additions to 13 schools in the Mounds View School District. This program in its entirety included eight elementary schools, three middle schools, and two high schools.

At the height of construction, eight projects were under way simultaneously, consisted of multiple phases and nearly all schools remained occupied during construction.

The building program set out to improve indoor air quality, enhance building security, compensate for overcrowding, adhere to fire marshall mandates, and address bus / car safety issues at each of the schools in the Mounds View School District.

Special features of the entire building program include a 500-seat auditorium, four new gymnasiums, new science lab classrooms, and new athletic fields.
