STAHL CONSTRUCTION GIVES BACK

Minneapolis, MN - June 6, 2008 - Stahl Construction recently received recognition for giving time and materials in helping a St. Louis Park, MN citizen with yard work, which turned into donating windows and a new back door.

STAHL CONSTRUCTION TO BUILD ANOKA COUNTY PUBLIC SAFETY CAMPUS

Minneapolis, MN - May 29, 2008 – Stahl Construction has been chosen to build the new Anoka County Public Safety Campus after the Anoka County board approved the partnership at the May 27 County Board meeting.

“We are very excited about the opportunity to work with Anoka County and everyone that will be involved in the process of completing this project,” said Meghan Huber, Project Manager.

The 139,000 SF project will cost nearly $21 million. Stahl will be working closely with the architectural firm Buetow & Associates. The two companies worked together on the Anoka County Human Service Center and Ramsey County Library.

“Stahl is very anxious to begin the construction process after the approval from the Anoka County board this week,” stated Huber.


STAHL CONSTRUCTION HIRES NEW MARKETING COMMUNICATION SPECIALIST & OFFICE SPECIALIST 

Minneapolis, MN - May 15, 2008 - Stahl Construction is proud to welcome Andy Gardner, marketing communication specialist, and Jennie Miller, office specialist, as the newest members of the Stahl Construction team.

Andy began at Stahl on April 7.  Andy will be responsible for all advertising, collateral and e-marketing campaigns. Andy has done extensive publication design in different markets. He received a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication with an emphasis in public relations from Winona State University.

Jennie graduated from St. Cloud State in December of 2006 and began working at Bluegreen Vacation Club as a Contracts Processor for about a year afterwards. The position at Bluegreen required late hours, so she sought out a position that accommodated the daytime hours she desired and provided some growth potential, and that’s how she ended up at Stahl.


STAHL CONSTRUCTION AND LAKEVILLE POLICE STATION RECEIVE REAL ESTATE AWARD

Minneapolis, MN – April 22, 2008 – Stahl Construction and the Lakeville Police Station were awarded the Nonprofit/Government Development/Redevelopment award at the Minneapolis-St. Paul Business Journal 2007 Best in Real Estate awards ceremony that was held Thursday, April 17 in downtown Minneapolis.

A total of ten judges chose 24 winners and finalists in 15 various categories from hundreds of nominees.


STAHL CONSTRUCTION COMPLETES RENOVATION OF HILTON MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL AIRPORT MALL OF AMERICA

Minneapolis, MN – April 14, 2008 –Stahl Construction recently completed renovating the Minneapolis Airport Hilton Hotel in Bloomington, MN. The 300-unit, 90,000-SF project consisted of new millwork and upgraded finsihes throughout. The project was completed with minimal disruption to guests and staff while the hotel remained open for business. “To complete nine floors, each with different characteristics, in five months was a challenge that Stahl Construction was willing to take on, and we got it done” said Clark Evans, project manager. The owner was Remington Management, LLP.

STAHL NAMES GILBERT MECHANICAL CONTRACTORS FIRST QUARTER SUPER SUB
Minneapolis, MN – February 15, 2008 – Stahl Construction names Gilbert Mechanical Contractors its first quarter Stahl Super Sub. Recent projects with Stahl include C.H. Robinson Worldwide, Inc. World Headquarters, Flagship Bank, and Barr Engineering.


STAHL PROJECT MANAGER EARNS LEED® PROFESSIONAL ACCREDITATION
Minneapolis, MN – February 14, 2008 – Project Manager Jason McMillen recently achieved LEED® Professional Accreditation. McMillen's comprehensive understanding and commitment to green building practices will benefit Stahl and its clients as the commercial construction industry continues to support and require environmentally friendly building designs and processes.


STAHL RECEIVES SMALL BUSINESS AWARD
Minneapolis, MN – February 2, 2008 – Stahl Construction recently accepted the Minneapolis Regional Chamber of Commerce Small Business Award, receiving special recognition as a Community Advocate Business. The award commends Stahl for its growth, excellence, innovation, and involvement in the community.


CONSTRUCTION UNDER WAY ON BAXTER JCPENNEY
Minneapolis, MN – January 9, 2008 – Construction is under way on an 84,000 SF JCPenney in Baxter, Minn. The one-story stand-alone building will feature a salon, sales floor, office area, and stock rooms. Located off of State Highway 371 and Gloria Road, the store will open in August 2008. Stahl is the general contractor.


STAHL NAMES HIGH FIVE ERECTORS FOURTH QUARTER SUPER SUB
Minneapolis, MN – December 28, 2007 – Stahl Construction names High Five Erectors its fourth quarter Stahl Super Sub. Stahl has worked with High Five for more than 11 years, completing eight projects, including the Shakopee High School, and Cambria Suites and Hampton Inn & Suites in Bloomington. Stahl presented the award at a Dec. 28 ceremony at High Five's Shakopee headquarters. 


STAHL WELCOMES BACK PROJECT MANAGER
Minneapolis, MN – December 14, 2007 – Stahl Construction welcomes back project manager Kevin Johnson. Johnson, who worked at Stahl for more than 12 years until 1996, returned in November. New faces also include project manager Tim Bozikowski (hired in July) and office specialist Jenny Gerard (hired in September).


STAHL NAMED A GREEN BUSINESS
Minneapolis, MN – December 4, 2007 – The city of St. Louis Park recently named Stahl Construction a Green Business, honoring Stahl's outstanding achievements of protecting and restoring the city's environment through its everyday business practices. 

Stahl proved it could be an "environmental steward and set an example for others by limiting waste, recycling, and reusing materials when possible," states a city media release.

In addition to recycling and reducing waste at its home office, Stahl also encourages and helps its clients choose greener building alternatives, including the use of recycled building materials when possible. As a member of the U.S. Green Building Council, Stahl is proud of its commitment to sustainable design and has completed several environmentally conscious projects.


STAHL COMPLETES COUNTRY INN & SUITES IN SHOREVIEW
Minneapolis, MN – November 30, 2007 – Stahl Construction completed construction recently on a Country Inn & Suites by Carlson in Shoreview. Hospitality Investors, LLC chose Stahl to construct the four-story, 83-unit Country Inn at the Rice Creek Corporate Park.

Features include an indoor waterslide, a wading pool with fountain, five whirlpool suites, exercise room, meeting room facilities including a business center with full computer access, and a breakfast room.

Stahl also completed construction on two Bloomington hotels - Hampton Inn & Suites and Cambria Suites - earlier this fall.


STAHL COMPLETES EVEN GREENER C.H. ROBINSON WORLD HEADQUARTERS
Minneapolis, MN – November 27, 2007 – Stahl Construction completed construction recently on the new C.H. Robinson Worldwide, Inc. World Headquarters (CHRW) in Eden Prairie.

The 125,000-SF building includes galley kitchens, 18 conference rooms, a two-story boardroom, and Class-A finishes such as slate wood flooring and wood paneling.

Proud of its commitment to sustainable design building practices, Stahl and CHRW implemented several green elements in the building's design and construction, including specialty cork flooring and low VOC carpet made from renewable resources. Employees are exposed to natural daylight throughout much of the space. An outdoor patio constructed using Vermont Bluestone offers a premier setting overlooking the River Bluffs. The installation of a Building Automation System minimizes building heating and cooling during unoccupied hours. The addition of showers in the building encourages employees to use alternative transportation methods.

The new headquarters houses all CHRW executives, human resources, and legal employees. Stahl was the general contractor and also built the nearby Flying Cloud Corporate Campus in 2004, which also houses CHRW employees.


STAHL PROJECT MANAGER EARNS LEED® PROFESSIONAL ACCREDITATION
Minneapolis, MN – September 12, 2007 – Stahl project manager Meghan Huber earns LEED® Professional Accreditation. LEED® Accredited Professionals have demonstrated a thorough understanding of green building practices and principles and familiarity with LEED® requirements, resources, and processes.

The LEED® Green Building Rating System is the nationally accepted standard for the design, construction, and operation of high performance green buildings. LEED® AP's give building owners and operators the tools they need to have an immediate and measurable impact on their building's performance in five key areas: sustainable site development, water savings, energy efficiency, materials selection, and indoor environmental quality.


STAHL NAMES COMMERCIAL PLUMBING AND HEATING THIRD QUARTER SUPER SUB
Minneapolis, MN – August 1, 2007 – Stahl Construction names Commercial Plumbing and Heating its third quarter Stahl Super Sub. Stahl has worked with Commercial since 2000. Recent projects include Cambria Suites and Hampton Inn & Suites in Bloomington, Dance Works Performing Arts Center in Lakeville, and Lady Bug Child Care Center in Waconia.


STAHL CONSTRUCTION COMPLETES LADY BUG CHILD CARE CENTER
Minneapolis, MN – August 1, 2007 – Stahl Construction announces the completion of Lady Bug Child Care Center. The 10,000 SF building is located east of Waconia on the north side of Highway 5 and includes several classrooms, a kitchen and a nursery to accommodate more than 150 children and staff. In addition to installing outdoor playground equipment, Stahl worked with the owner to create a unique indoor playground system with specialty flooring surfaces to ensure soft landings. Stahl will be present at Lady Bug's grand opening on Saturday, Aug. 4. The center opens to families Monday, Aug. 6.


STAHL CONSTRUCTION BREAKS GROUND ON LAKEVILLE POLICE STATION
Minneapolis, MN – June 7, 2007 – Stahl Construction broke ground recently on the new Lakeville Police Station. The 70,500 SF building is located on 7.5 acres of land and will replace the existing 23-year-old station. The new station features a walk-out site and includes a secure 35,000 SF underground parking garage for squad cars. Estimated project completion is summer 2008.



STAHL CONSTRUCTION NOMINATED CONTRACTOR OF THE YEAR

Minneapolis, MN – January 29, 2007 – In January, Stahl Construction was nominated for the 2006 General Contractor of the Year T.O.P.S. Award in the under $150 million category by the American Subcontractors Association of Minnesota (ASA).

Nominees were judged in eight areas including uses contracts with reasonable terms and conditions, promotes proper safety procedures, ensures proper security, employs competent project managers / superintendents, develops and maintains realistic schedules, provides timely progress and final payments, treats subcontractors with respect, handles change orders and disputes in a timely manner.

One ASA member was quoted saying about Stahl, “their commitment to excellence rubs off on you. They’re loyal, trustworthy and honest. They expect the best and in doing so make your company better.”


AND THE AWARD GOES TO…STAHL CONSTRUCTION
Minneapolis, MN – January 26, 2007 – In January, Stahl Construction was nominated for Best Expansion / Addition to Existing Construction for Providence Academy by the Minnesota Construction Association (MCA), Contractor of the Year by the American Subcontractors Association of Minnesota, Best Special Purpose Project for Providence Academy and Best Mixed-Use Project for 131 Carmichael by the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP).  

Stahl’s 131 Carmichael project was awarded Best Mixed-Use Project by NAIOP. 131 Carmichael is a 36,000 SF office and retail condominium building located in Hudson, Wisconsin. The building design boasts striking architectural finishes including a curved aluminum and glass curtain wall, down-spouts encased in exterior architectural heavy gage aluminum, brick and architectural concrete, custom tile, and other high end finishes.

Judges representing a cross-section of developers, general contractors, mortgage bankers, brokers, and industry specialists evaluated the project on site improvements and design, architectural integrity, market feasibility, and project success.
