Retail projects are unique in that they can be a "bee hive" of activity, unlike any other building type. With grand opening dates, last-minute changes, landlord work, tenant work, fixture contractors, and even multiple prime contactors on site, it all makes for a hectic pace. Stahl's systematic approach to the building process keeps everything organized and running smoothly, both in the office and in the field. The changes get made, the work gets done, the billings go where they're supposed to go, and the grand opening happens right on cue. Life is good and it's on to the next project.
Sears hired Stahl to construct their shell portion of the three story, 180,000-SF store at the Mall of America. During construction the design was altered, moving the escalators closer to the entrance. Stahl was able to complete all changes in accordance to the construction schedule.
As a part of the project Stahl built two of the longest sky-ways at the Mall of America, almost 100-feet each, connecting Sears to the East parking ramp.
