 Stahl Construction Opens New Office in Iowa

Branch Currently Serving More Than $78 Million in Projects in State

 

MINNEAPOLIS, September 13, 2011 – Stahl Construction Co. today announced the opening of a new office in Urbandale, Iowa. The new branch enables the general contracting and construction management firm to better serve clients in Iowa and Nebraska. Headquartered in Minneapolis, Stahl currently has more than $78 million in construction projects under way in Iowa.

 

Heading the Iowa branch is Des Moines area resident Bill Harger. As project manager, he oversees Stahl’s work in the state and serves as the firm’s local contact for owners, architects, suppliers and subcontractors. Harger has been in the construction industry for 18 years and previously managed the Waukee, Iowa, office of Oakview dck LLC.

 

Stahl’s current Iowa projects include the renovation of Urbandale Middle School, which encompasses upgrades to the existing facility and a 68,000-sq-ft addition; construction of the new 283,000-sq-ft Ankeny Centennial High School and 110,000-sq-ft Fort Madison Middle School; and a new 47,000-sq-ft public works building for the city of Council Bluffs.

 

Last year, Stahl completed construction of Iowa State University’s new Biorenewables Research Laboratory in Ames, the first phase of ISU’s $107.1 million Biorenewables Complex and recipient of LEED® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Gold certification from the U.S. Green Building Council. Stahl’s other past work in the state has included several hotel, retail, commercial and agricultural facilities in the Des Moines area, Waterloo, Stuart and Woodbine.
